Compensation
A stipend is provided for principal roles. Cover and chorus positions are not paid.
Audition Information
Auditions will be held both in-person and virtually, and are open to singers local to the Boston area. (Please note: Lowell House Opera cannot provide housing for out-of-town singers, and singers are responsible for transportation to and from rehearsals.)

Figaro - role and cover
Rosina - cover
Dottor Bartolo - role and cover
Don Basilio - role and cover
Berta - role and cover
Fiorello - role and cover
Ambrogio - role and cover
Un ufficiale - role and cover

In-Person Auditions
For singers who would like to audition live and in-person, auditions will be held on Friday, November 6th from 6-9:00 pm and Saturday, November 7th from 1-4:00 pm on Harvard’s campus (exact location will be shared closer to the audition date).

Repertoire: Please bring in an Italian aria in the style of The Barber of Seville that shows off vocal agility. If you’d like, you are more than welcome to bring an aria from The Barber of Seville.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to your scheduled audition time. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring a copy of your resume to the audition, and have your music printed and hole-punched in a three ring binder (do not bring in sheet music on an iPad).

Please note: LHO is not able to provide housing for out-of-town artists.
Virtual audition submissions are due November 7th at 11:59 pm.
Tentative Callbacks
For singers who audition both virtually and in-person, if we’d like to hear more, we may request a callback after the audition. Callbacks are tentatively scheduled for November 15th. Please let us know when you audition if you have a scheduling conflict with this date, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
