Audition to be a part of Lowell House Opera’s 80th season!
The roles.
-

Estelle Rigault - soprano
A glamorous and vain socialite who clings to her beauty and status as measures of self-worth. Beneath her elegance lies deep insecurity and denial of her moral failings. Estelle is flirtatious, manipulative, and desperate for validation.
-

Joseph Garcin - tenor
A journalist and man of words who hides cowardice behind intellectualism. Garcin longs to be seen as brave and principled but is tormented by guilt and self-doubt. Passionate, introspective, and prone to emotional volatility.
-

Inez Serrano - mezzo-soprano
A sharp, cynical, and intelligent woman with a piercing honesty that borders on cruelty. Inez sees through others’ pretenses and relishes in psychological control. Her attraction to Estelle and contempt for Garcin drive much of the dramatic tension.
-

the valet - bass-baritone
A cool, detached attendant of the afterlife. The Valet serves as both usher and observer — polite, impassive, and slightly unsettling. A figure of bureaucratic control with hints of dark humor.
